In the year 1934 presented the car factory Tatra to the public its first aerodynamic eight cylinder Tatra 77. Its stylistic significance is extraordinary world wide, abroad, the aerodynamic eight cylinders of Tatra are often considered as our most interesting contribution to the development of automobiles in the world.
Of the original Tatra 77 and Tatra 77a eight cylinders remain today eight pieces, mostly however in an unexhibitable state. Only one of them, in the Automobile Museum of Luzern in Switzerland, is well renovated.
A complete renovation at the cost of approx. 1.5 to 2 million Czech crowns would also deserve the car which was preserved in the depository of the NTM. In a presentation of this significant mile stone of world automobile design is not only the National Technical Museum greatly interested, but the National Gallery as well.
