Temporary exhibitions of the Museum

Three Centuries of Steam

Three centuries ago were conducted the first experiments which in the course of the 18. century lead to the construction of the steam engine. This became the universal engine and one of the indispensable conditions for the rise of a hitherto unknown development of technological, production and economic powers, named the Industrial Revolution.

The NTM wants to conduct as a reminder of this event an extensive monothematic exhibition, dedicated to the utilization of steam energy, its significance, history, its present state and the effects, which its use brings. The goal of this exhibition is to address the amateur and expert public, like students of technical schools, the technical intelligentsia, researchers and manufacturers, distributors and users of energetic equipment. One part of the exhibition will also be demonstrations of steam technology in action (demonstrations of a steamroller, of a historic train with a steam locomotive and of a ship with a steam engine).

The costs are estimated at 0.6 mil. Czech crowns.
