The exhibition of Acoustics was originally created as the
Centre of the Noise Ecology with the aim to make the visitors
acquainted with the principle of sound and noise and with
its impacts on health and working performance. The
exhibition is arranged in an interactive way so that the
visitors could prove for themselves the respective facts on
demonstrating instruments. The exhibition also includes
a reverberation and a reverberation-free chamber where
measurements of noise can be carried out with the
instruments of the 1st class of accuracy. The exhibition was
later completed with the historical section that allows
a visitor to become familiar with the development of sound
technology. This part displays a complete developmental
series of microphones, phonographs, gramophones, etc.
Musical machines are represented by examples of
barrel-organs, polyphones and tack instruments.
Associated
with the exhibition of acoustics is the department enabling
professional re-recording of historical records, phonograph
cylinders and gramophone records to magnetic carrier.
