The relation of Czech pitchblende to the invention of radioactivity is documented by two pans presented to the Museum by Pierre Currie. One of them served for dissolving radioactive residues, the other for crystallization of radium. The collection also contains models of radiophores, replica of an emanation apparatus RADIUMCHEMA for preparing emanated water at home. The collection also includes samples of non-radioactive uranium compounds. A special group includes the collection of scintillation devices (scincillators, photomultipliers, scintillation detectors in a non-detachable combination with a photomultiplier, alpha-, beta- gamma-scintillators), most of them being products of the Czech enterprise Tesla from the period from 1950 to the early 70s. Some of these types were developed by academician Behounek.
