Information science is a dynamically growing field in the Czech Republic. Just as dynamic, however, are the people representing the driving motor of growth and advance in information science. For this reason the organisers of the Invex-Computer fair decided, four years ago, to reward those making the greatest contribution to the development of information science in the year in question. "The Personality of the Year in Czech Information Science" is selected by experts in two categories: scientists, educationalists and publicists on the one hand, and managers, businessmen and production and technical officers on the other. We will find out who will be added to the seven previous winning personalities at a ceremonial event on the first day of the fair.
