The Star Company will present its Java based information system called Brain. The whole project is slowly moving from the development stage to the first stage of commercial implementations. The version of Brain presented here should already utilize a three layer model - the system logic is separated from the client application and moved to a self standing layer running on the application server. The client application need not run separately but if needed, it can run as an applet in the web browser thanks to this technology. The ODMG database standard has also been recently supported. A successor of Brain will be the IR ultimate information system.
