On display at the CORE Computer Company stand is the new version of the LiveLAN 3.1 system. This system allows videoconferencing on the ATM network, in accordance with the new C supplement of the H.323 standard version 2.

Its development is a result of co-operation between the PictureTel and the FORE Systems companies. The newly developed system is capable of transferring a video signal with a resolution of 352 x 288 or 176 x 144 pixels with 30 frames per second. Data are transferred at the rate of 768 kb/s, and it also allows communication between a maximum of 24 participants in the so-called multipoint mode.

LiveGateway further enables the transition to the ISDN world and safeguards the continuity of videoconferencing on an international scale. In addition, videoconferencing is also the topic of the new Computerworld magazine supplement called Technology World.
