One pass color laser printing

Tally 8104 The Tally Computer Printer Company represented by the Tecoma Company in the Czech Republic, introduces its new color laser printer the Tally 8104. This printer belongs to the third generation of color laser printers, employing a printing system in which paper makes only one pass through the printer.

At the heart of the printer is an RISC processor running at 133MHz. A base memory of 88MB has been installed, which may extend up to 386MB. Printing speed varies from 4 to 16 pages a minute and the maximum resolution is 2400 x 600 dpi.

A special feature of the printer is an internal www page, which allows the user to monitor printer status. Other interesting features include the PCL 5c and PostScript Level II emulation, internal hard drive support and the possibility of installing an SCSI port for the connection of external hard drives. An additional advantage is the easy maintenance of simple paper and toner handling.

The printing costs of one page vary from 0,7 CZK for a black and white printing (5 percent covered) to about 6 CZK for color (4 x 5 percent covered). If you print color photographs in a A4 format (more than 80 percent covered), the cost should not, according to the manufacturer, be higher than 20 CZK. The list price of the printer is 137,000 CZK (VAT not included).
