Paper to CD¡ROM Conversion: Paper documents are scanned and then stored on a CD¡ROM (app. 15,000 pages per CD). Once the documents are in digital format, they can be placed in a fast, searchable, and accurate database. Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Typefaced documents with reasonably good print resolution can be scanned and then converted into standard ASCII text. Once in ASCII format, the document can be indexed, searched, and edited with virtually any word processing or spreadsheet software. OCR technology has provided outstanding results in fields such as human resources (resume processing) and law (court transcripts, exhibits) to name a few. Computer Output to Laser Disk (COLD): Computer-generated reports generally produce a great deal of paper and offer very few of the benefits of digital storage. COLD technology is a process in which computer reports are compressed and catalogued for storage. Reports extracted by our COLD process can easily be displayed, printed, faxed, e-mailed, and annotated.
