You can open the grate with the screwdriver that's also stuck down there.

The screwdriver is made of metal.

Hint 5 of 9:

A magnet might help you retrieve it.

Hint 6 of 9:

The deodorizer in the piano room (next to one of the windows, on the wall)
has a magnet on it.  Take it.

Hint 7 of 9:

Now you just need a way to get the magnet down into the grate.
