What do I do with the halyard?

Try pulling on it.

You hear a noise from behind the back wall.

The porthole is there, but it's still closed.

The trick is to keep the halyard pulled, so the porthole stays open.

There's a notch in the wall.

You need to put something in the hole so you can tie the halyard to it.

Hint 9 of 15:

Use the corkscrew on the hole.

Hint 10 of 15:

Now use the end of the halyard on the corkscrew.

Hint 11 of 15:

The porthole is now open, revealing a thin rope.

Hint 12 of 15:

Pull on the rope, and a bucket will come up.
