I can't get the halyard.

You need something long to reach it.

Nothing is long enough by itself.

Why don't you try putting things together.

The oar is the longest.

You need something else to attach to it.

Get the wooden pin from the rack of wooden pins in the front of the ship.

You need to use the pliers on the rack to the right to get a pin.

Use the wooden pin on the oar.

Now you need to secure them together.

Tie them together with the ribbon.

It's long enough to reach, but you still can't grab the halyard.

You need a hook.

Too bad you don't have the small hook that you used on the trunk.

It's okay, you don't need it.  

You have to make your own hook.

Use the pliers on the nail to twist it.

Use the nail on the long pole, and you have yourself a boat hook.
