How do I get light?

Hint 1 of 12:

You'll need to get the torch on the wall, and light it.  Easier said than
done.

Hint 2 of 12:

First, open up the matchbook.

Hint 3 of 12:

Get a match.

Hint 4 of 12:

Close it, to avoid burning the book (if you do burn the book, restore a game.
 You really need that matchbook!)

Hint 5 of 12:

Now, you could try lighting the torch, but it wouldn't work.

Hint 6 of 12:

The torch needs something flammable so it stays lit.

Hint 7 of 12:

Look in the jar for a hint.

Hint 8 of 12:

That looks like oil, doesn't it?

Hint 9 of 12:

Dip the torch in the jar.

Hint 10 of 12:

Light the match.

Hint 11 of 12:

And then light the torch with the match.

Hint 12 of 12:

You will probably need to do this a couple times in the game.
