Tips for displaying newsgroup messages

In the message list, you have a variety of options for displaying newsgroup messages and threads (the replies to the original message):

• If you want the message list to display the first message and all replies to it (called threads), click the plus (+) sign next to the first message.

• To display only the original message in a thread, click the minus (-) sign next to the message.

• To expand or collapse all threads in the message list, click the Edit menu, and then click Select All. Then click the View menu, and click Expand or Collapse.

• To display expanded threads in all newsgroups, click the Tools menu, click Options, click the Read tab, and then select the Automatically expand conversation threads check box.

Note

• A thread is an original message and any posted replies. Threads are sorted and grouped according to the title. For example, a thread that starts with a message titled "Tips for Labrador owners" includes all of the replies titled "RE: Tips for Labrador owners."
