This INSTALL program is used to install the game from cd-rom. You can also
install from a hard drive where all the files and the directory structure is
located as long as you pass the hard drive letter in place of the cd-rom. I
tested this and works but if it doesn't work for you, you're on your own.
Test it.

The INSTALL program will copy files from the root of the cd-rom (or root of
directory passed) and from the ANIM, PICS, PTE, STE, SCRIPTS, SAVE directories.
It then creates this structure on the target drive and directory.

NOTE: The 'extract' directory is where you constructed the zip file.
      The 'install' directory is where you are installing the program.

So, if you downloaded the free game. Here are the steps that you would take to
use this install program.

1. Download all 11 files (BC3K.001 - .010, MAKEBC3K.ZIP)

   Files are available from the following sites. I am not responsible for bad
   downloads! Please verify your downloads and I suggest using the GetRight
   program (www.headlightsw.com) which allows you to schedule and resume
   downloads from certain servers.

2. Unzip MAKEBC3K.ZIP and use the batch file to create BC3KD7C.ZIP in your
   extract directory.

3. Unzip BC3KD7C.ZIP into your extract directory and preserve the folders using 
   -d of Pkunzip. If you are using a WIN95 utility, make sure it's set to 
   create empty directories or the PICS, SAVE and SCRIPTS ones will not be 
   created.

4. If you downloaded the intro animation in BCINTRO.ZIP, unzip that file into
   the ANIM sub-directory using -d parameter.  This will ensure that it is
   placed in the proper area and the PLAYER.EXE file moved to the install
   directory. If you use the /n parameter to run the game as instructed in the
   README.TXT file that came in MAKEBC3K.ZIP, this will prevent the intro from
   running. You can also disable it via the CONFIG menu in the game.

5. Copy the INSTALL.EXE and INSTALL.PL files into the install directory.

                             ** CD-ROM MAGAZINES **
   
   If you are a magazine that is going to be carrying this program, make a
   cd-rom of the directory structure with the files intact. You MUST maintain
   the directory structure so that the files and directories are in the ROOT
   of the cd-rom. This is EXTREMELY important. If you put these files in a
   sub-directory, the install program will fail and the partial install method
   will NOT work because BC3K will be unable to find it's files. The directory
   structure contains ANIM, DOCS, PICS, POF, PTE, SAVE, SCRIPTS, STE

   ! The INSTALL program does NOT copy the contents of the DOCS directory to the
     hard drive under any circumstances. Be sure to tell your readers that the
     docs are in this directory on the cd-rom.

   ! You should also have a copy of the Adobe Acrobat reader v3.01 on the cd-rom
     so that your readers can install it. This is required to read the manuals.

   ! You MUST do a test cd-rom, install and test the program before doing a 
     mass duplication! I will NOT be responsible for ANY problems because I
     have outlined the procedure in DETAIL and this is how the retail version
     of the program works.

   ! The BC3KPR11.TXT file accompanying the release must also reside on the
     cd-rom in it's entirety. Translated or not. For more conditions for 
     carrying this program, refer to the press release emails.
   
6. Execute INSTALL.EXE to install BC3K either from the extract directory
   to the install directory or from cd-rom to the install directory. If for
   some reason the graphical install fails to work, use the t parameter to run
   the text version by typing INSTALL t
      
   a. You will be prompted for a language. Select ENGLISH. Foreign language
      support is not in this version.
      
   b. Provide the target installation directory. If you are installing from the
      hard drive as mentioned above, provide a DIFFERENT directory. If you have
      created a cd-rom, then use it's drive letter when prompted.

   c. The install program will then copy the files from the directory or cd-rom,
      to the target install directory. 
      
      ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING **
      
      If installing from one directory to another, do NOT use the Partial
      install method or INSTALL won't copy all the files. This method is ONLY
      if you have the program on cd-rom (step 5 above) and some files (intro, 
      credits, etc) will remain on the cd-rom in order to save disk space. They
      are accessed at runtime and therefore the cd-rom must remain in the drive
      at ALL times.
      
      ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING **

   d. The install program will then do the following before exiting. Note that
      these steps needed to be done manually when using the MAKEBC3K.ZIP file.
   
       - create a BC3000AD.INI using your install directory and cd-rom settings
       - test your video driver
       - run SETUP.EXE and allow you to configure your sound card

7. Everything else you need, including trouble shooting info are in the 
   README.TXT included in the MAKEBC3K.ZIP file.
