Security |
No Access to the OS:
None of the web-browserÆs menu structure, toolbars or system buttons are accessible when NetShift is running, thus allowing users to browse the Internet without allowing potentially dangerous access to the operating system.
|
Protocol Blocking:
NetShift can be configured to block access to any specific network protocol. This prevents problems arising due to users clicking on mailto addresses, for example, or attempting to download files from ftp sites.
|
File Type Blocking:
Any file type (MIME type) for which the web-browser is configured to request user input will be automatically blocked by NetShift.
|
Automatic Recovery:
NetShift continually monitors the web-browser and will restart it if the browser software crashes.
|
Dialog Box Monitoring:
NetShift will automatically override message dialog boxes which are produced by the web-browser (e.g. when the browser is unable to locate a server) - the dialog box will be briefly displayed and then disappear.
