FaxWare 5

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Although the performance data of FaxWare 5 has been improved considerably, its system requirements have remained the same. In fact many functions are now executed a lot faster on the same hardware.á

As far as the system requirements are concerned, Tobit works with hardware that is already available and what's more can share these resources with other applications. Therefore, your company won't lose the money it has already invested in hardware. By using Tobit's communication products, you don't necessarily have to think about buying expensive new hardware. Only if you have very high fax traffic or if you make extensive use of the mail and Web functions of David, should you consider installing a dedicated communication server.á

Server

A license for all server operating systems listed below is included as standard with FaxWare 5. When changing the operating system, you don't need an additional license. We don't force you to make decisions about the future now. If you use a Novell server on your network but are thinking about changing to another operating system, FaxWare offers some decisive advantages. FaxWare is prepared for different operating systems and a migration tool will make this change very easy. Most importantly, for your employees, almost nothing will change. They will still be able to use the same functions and the client will look the same as before. Today you can start working with the communication solutions of tomorrow!á

NetWare 3

NetWare 3.11 or 3.12 with at least 8 MB RAM and 50 MB of free memory on a volume; Intel 486/66 or better;á

NetWare 4

NetWare 4.10 with at least 12 MB RAM and 50 MB of free memory on a volume; Intel Pentium 75 or better;á

IntranetWare

Version 4.11 with at least 12 MB RAM and 50 MB of free memory on a volume; Intel Pentium 75 or better;á

Windows NT*:

Windows NT 4.0 with SP3 with at least 48 MB RAM and 100 MB of free memory; Intel Pentium 166 or better;á

Client

With the clients included as standard, Tobit provides support for all the software products currently available on the market. Tobit constantly takes new developments into account, so that the clients are always kept up-to-date. The system requirements refer to the client software included as standard. FaxWare 5 can be used without this software. In this case, however, only restricted use is possible.á

Communication hardware

Depending on the server operating system used, different hardware components are supported. Before buying, you should make sure that the planned configuration is possible and advisable.á

Analog

Serially controlled fax modem supporting the Class 2 and 2.0 fax standard; GammaLINK product family; analog Ferrari fax board;á

Any ISDN adapters with CAPI interface (1.1 or 2.0; auto detect) and fax Group 3 support (e.g. Tobit dBoard2); digital Ferrari fax board; digital GammaLINK board;á

Radio (GSM)

For use of the Short Message Services of the GSM radio network. Any serially controlled radio modem with SMS command set (AT+Cellular); (e.g. Tobit cPort1)á
