FAX-ON-DEMAND
As standard, FaxWare
5 comes with a high performance fax-on-demand system which you can access
via fax polling or fax-on-demand. In fact, this system was introduced by
Tobit over 18 months ago with a separate FaxBox module. FaxWare 5 has a
special archive where you can save these FaxBox documents. Callers can
retrieve these documents either by calling directly from a fax machine,
selecting their documents and fax polling or by using a normal phone to
request that their document order be sent to a specific fax number. This
way, you can provide fax information, 24 hours a day. When sending information
to customers, colleagues, and partners, you'll no longer have to work according
to office hours or local country time.áá
All you have
to do is work in the same way as if you wanted to create a "normal" fax
with FaxWare. Create a document in a DOS or Windows application. Instead
of a fax number, specify the FaxWare command with the corresponding parameters
in the document and then send the document to the FaxWare server. Under
Windows, this is done by printing to the FaxWare printer driver. Under
DOS, the user simply sends the document to a FaxWare queue or saves it
in a FaxWare FileScan directory.áá
The Service Layer
receives the job and converts it into a fax document (Modified Huffman
format), just like a normal send job. Therefore, it's still possible to
insert forms or graphics. The document will be saved in the FaxBox archive
using the number defined. As soon as the document has been converted by
the Service Layer, the next caller can retrieve it by fax.áá
By using corresponding
extension numbers, the documents in the fax-on-demand system can be retrieved
directly. Alternatively, the fax-on-demand system can be accessed via a
defined script. The caller dials the FaxWare server from a normal phone.
By means of saved wave files, which can be easily re-recorded, the server
then explains how to use the system. During the dialog, the caller can
select one or several documents by tone dialling and then passes on the
call to a fax machine for fax reception. If the call is from a combined
fax machine then simply press the start button on the fax machine after
selecting the documents.á |
