Edit F4, Shift + F4
Edit loads the file under the cursor bar (in a file panel)
into the Commander's editor (or an editor of your choice, if
you've set one up -- see note below).

Creating a file:
To create a new file, press Shift + F4 and type in the name
for the new file. You'll see the following dialog:

                  +------- Edit --------+
Can't find the file
    somefile.ext
New-file Cancel
                  +---------------------+

Press Enter to create a new file.

   Notes:
. You can create and maintain the extension file called
VCEDIT.EXT, which associates editors with file
extensions. Use the Editor... item in the Options
        menu to do it.

. Pressing Shift + F4, or holding down the Shift key as
you select this menu item, brings up a dialog box
into which you can type the name of the file you want
        to edit:

            +----------------- Edit ------------------+
Edit the file:
_
            +-----------------------------------------+
