This file details information on the game and how to get in contact with Nature Boy Software. For more detailed information on playing the game, see the Lexicon user's manual. 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS _______________________________________________ Lexicon requires the following: IBM PC and Compatibles Pentium processor or better Mouse VGA Compatible Display (640x480 resolution with 8-bit (256) color) 8MB RAM minimum, 16MB recommended Windows 95 (Windows NT not tested) Installed "Direct X" drivers Hard Drive with at least 8 MB free About Direct X drivers: This game requires Microsoft DirectX 5.0 or later. Direct X is a set of drivers (programs) for Windows 95 developed by Microsoft to improve performance and provide greater compatibility for new computer games and other software. If you do not already have Direct X 5.0, you can obtain a copy from Microsoft's web site at: http://www.microsoft.com/directx 3. FILE INFORMATION _______________________________________________ LEXICON.EXE is the application you will run to play the game. A shortcut for it has been created in the program group you specified during installation. During gameplay, Lexicon will create a high-scores file named "HIGH SCORES", as well as a new folder named "SavedGames" which will contain any games saved during play. These items will not be removed from your system if you perform an uninstall, so they should be removed manually. A shortcut for uninstalling (removing) Lexicon from your hard drive is also provided in your program group. A shortcut for the Lexicon User's Manual is provided in your program group as well. This manual contains all of the information you will need on how to play Lexicon. This information is also available from within the game by selecting the HELP button (rock) while in the main control screen (the pond with the lily-pads). 4. REGISTERING _______________________________________________ If you enjoy the shareware version of Lexicon and want to see more, please register your copy. By registering, you will receive the full version of Lexicon, featuring... * Many more tile layout patterns for each game type. * Tougher computer opponents (Average Joe & Tough Tom). * A fully editable dictionary. * Saving and loading of games. * Play head-to-head against others over the internet, LANs, modem and serial port connections. * High scores are permanently saved to disk. * Word hints (suggestions) available during gameplay. This shareware version of Lexicon is a convertible demo. That is, it can be converted into the registered version simply by entering your registration code within the program. To register Lexicon and obtain your registration code, read the file Order.txt. 5. OBTAINING LATEST INFORMATION / PATCHES _______________________________________________ Updates to Lexicon will be made as deemed necessary by Nature Boy Software to ensure playability and compatibility to the user community.
