The Gallery

The Gallery window will display thumbnails of all the artwork and other media in a particular folder that you specify. To display the contents of a folder in the Gallery, use the Find button to navigate to the folder you want to display, and select any file. The Gallery will display all the images, sound files and text files (in a proper format) that it finds there.

If the Gallery finds sequentially numbered files in the directory, it assumes these are part of an animation and will display a thumbnail of the first frame only.

To get a better look at the media in the Gallery, click the small preview button to display the preview window. In the preview window you can play the sounds and animations and see the images at full size.

You can use the Gallery as a shortcut for adding parts. To add a part to your applet from the Gallery, click on its thumbnail to load the cursor, and then click anywhere in applet canvas to drop it. You can do the same thing to add animations, audio and text parts to your applet from the Gallery.

The Gallery remembers the directories you've worked with, so you can quickly find the media you need. In addition, the contents of the last five directories are cached. Use Clear Gallery from the Options pull-down to empty the Gallery and free up system memory.

To reload the contents of a particular directory, press the Reload button . The Stop button can be used to stop the current directory from loading, much the same way that stop works on a web browser.
