Getting Started with Lotus BeanMachine

Adding Audio

From the Multimedia category of the Palette, drop an Audio part into your applet. Since audio is something you hear and don't see, you can drop it either on the applet canvas itself (now the black area) or onto the gray area surrounding the applet -- it's up to you. (You can also use the Gallery to add the audio if you like. Just click on the youthink.au file in the Gallery and drop it in the Composer.)

Once you drop the audio, go to the Properties tab of the Details window and set the sound property to youthink.au and the auto start property to no (this prevents the audio from playing automatically when the applet starts).

Now, just like with the animation part, let's make a connection to tell the audio when to play. Let's connect the rollover button to play the audio in addition to playing the animation. First select the rollover button on the applet canvas, then go to the Connections tab of the Details window. The connection you made to start the animation is still there. Connect the clicked event of the rollover button to the play action of the audio just like with the animation. Your Connections tab should look like this:

Great, now we're really moving! Go ahead and save your applet and then test it by clicking the Run button on the main toolbar. Let's add one last part to this applet before we publish it.
