setvideomode --
set a high resolution video mode
Synopsis
/usr/bin/X11/setvideomode [option]
Description
This utility allows the user to reset video resolutions to a
known state. This can be helpful after inadvertently setting
the resolution in an unusable state.
setvideomode must be run as root.
Options
setvideomode supports the following command line
options; they are mutually exclusive:
- -default
-
restores the resolution to its initial state at install time
- -stgvga
-
restores the resolution to standard VGA mode: 640x480, 16 colors

In UnixWare 7, setvideomode is intended as a
troubleshooting utility only. Use the
Video Configuration Manager
to change video configuration parameters for graphics adapters
and monitors.
