setpass(1nuc)

setpass -- set or change your NetWare password

Synopsis

setpass [server/[login]] [-ver] [-?]

Description

Use setpass with no options to change your password within the current NetWare® 4 Directory Services (NDS) context or, on a bindery network, specify a server to change your password on that server.

Replace login with your NetWare login ID; you can omit login if you are currently authenticated.

In the bindery format, replace server with the name of the NetWare server for which you want to change your password; if you omit the server name, the current server connection (if any) is assumed.

The setpass command prompts you to type the old password, the new password, and the new password again.

Use the -? option to display on-line help for this command (any other parameters or options are ignored). The -ver option prints setpass version information.

You can specify another user's login ID for login if you have appropriate NetWare effective rights.

Examples

Change the password of user PAT on an NDS network:
