Deleting a tape group

Previously, you created two new tape groups, removed the drives from the default groups, and assigned the drives to the new groups. Now you want to delete the old groups (GROUP1 and GROUP2).

Follow these directions to delete a tape group:

  1. Make sure you have root or root equivalent privileges.

You must have logged in as root before starting SCO ARCserve/Open or have typed su to become super user before starting SCO ARCserve/Open.

  2. Click the Device Group Configuration button.

The Device Group Configuration screen appears:

  3. Click on the name of the tape group you want to delete.

  4. Click Delete to delete the tape group.

  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to delete more groups.

  6. If you are finished deleting groups, Click Config to exit the Device Group Configuration screen and save the new settings.

Config writes your new tape group configuration to SCO ARCserve/Open's tapesvr.cfg file and causes the Tape Server to re-start. Refer to ``Additional information about tape group configuration'' for more information about SCO ARCserve/Open's tapesvr.cfg file.
