Modifying a job

Use the Job Queue Manager to modify a job already in the queue. This way you can add options or additional targets to an existing job, without having to create a new job.

The Marketing Department has installed a new host and Naomi, a queue operator, wants to include it in the backup that is scheduled for tonight.

Using the above example as a model, follow the steps below to modify a job:

  1. Highlight the job you want to change.

You cannot modify an active job.

  2. Click the Modify button.

The job that you originally created appears in its appropriate window, with the original source(s), option(s), and destination(s) selected. For example, if the job is a backup or Auto Pilot job, the Backup Manager appears. If the job is a restore job, the Restore Manager appears.

The Backup Manager window appears with the original backup job's sources, options, and destination selected.

  3. Make the desired changes.

Naomi selects the new host's hard drive to be included in this backup.

  4. Click the Run button.

Change or re-confirm the original execution information.

Naomi wants the job to run at the originally scheduled time, so she does not modify any of the fields in the dialog box.

  5. Confirm that you want to re-submit the job.
