Updating database records

There are four functions you can perform in the database windows:


We already discussed ``Adding a Remote Client to the database'', ``Viewing details about a job'' and ``Viewing details about a tape''.

This section explains how to use the Database Manager window to modify records and delete records.

There are only certain fields you can modify. To modify a record, do the following:

  1. Highlight the record you want to modify.

  2. Click the Modify Record button.

    The record will be displayed. You will only be able to place the cursor in fields that you can modify.

  3. Click OK to save the changes when you are done.

    To delete a record, do the following:

  4. Highlight the record you want to delete.

    You can delete records from the Job List, Tape List, or Remote Clients list.

    When you delete a tape, the entry remains, but the tape is labelled ``Destroyed''.

  5. Click the Delete Record button.

  6. Confirm the deletion.
