Volume Options

You can set volume options for any client or server that you are including in a backup job.

When used, Volume Options apply to the entire UNIX host, the specified NetWare volume, or the specified Windows drive.

You can only access remote hosts and clients if you have purchased and installed the appropriate Agent software.

Following are the basic steps for setting volume options for a backup job.

  1. Place the cursor over the node you want to apply options to.

  2. Click the right mouse button.

Make sure the cursor is over the node you want specify options for. The following menu displays:

  3. Select Volume Options.

Set the options you want to apply to this one volume you are backing up. Setting Volume Options only applies to the one UNIX host, one NetWare volume, or one Windows drive you have specified, not the entire backup job.

The administrator has enabled grooming for all hosts in this Auto Pilot set, but Naomi wants to make sure that when her host, open1, is backed up no old files are deleted.

If grooming is not set in Auto Pilot, the Disable Auto Pilot Grooming option does not work.
