Using the Device Manager with your Changer

Specifically, this chapter describes:

  • if your changer has its own SCSI ID
  • if your changer shares its SCSI ID

• getting device information about your changer, including:
  • general details about a changer
  • the status of a changer
  • information about a tape

• Changer Device Management maintenance functions, including:
  • formatting tapes
  • erasing tapes
  • importing and exporting tapes
  • changing loaded tapes
  • mounting and dismounting a magazine
  • cleaning the tape drive head

• install SCO ARCserve/Open and license the Changer Option

• familiarized yourself with SCO ARCserve/Open's Device Management window
