=============================================================== Autodesk Family of Products CD Readme File =============================================================== Contents System Requirements Installation and Operating Instructions Running the Demos from DOS -------------------------------------------------------------- System Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------- The Autodesk Family of Products CD requires a 486/33 or faster computer with at least 8 megabytes of memory and a double speed CD ROM drive. While a sound card is not necessary, it is highly recommended. NOTE: For proper operation, there must be a Windows swap file of at least 4 megabytes. Please also make sure your Windows display is set to 256 colors (even if your graphics board is capable of displaying more colors). Some of the demos on this CD run in DOS using 256 colors. Certain video cards may experience problems when running the demos from Windows. If a problem occurs, follow the instructions listed below for running the demos from DOS. ------------------------------------------------------------- Installation and Operating Instructions ------------------------------------------------------------- To install the Autodesk Family of Products CD, from Windows simply select File/Run and enter D:\SETUP.EXE where "D" is the drive letter of your CD ROM. The installation creates a Program Group and an Icon from which you can start the presentation. Within the Family of Products CD, you can learn more about Autodesk and its products by making selections at various menus -- simply single-click on any menu choice or "hot spot". (Double-clicking is unnecessary and may even hinder performance). ------------------------------------------------------------ Running the Demos from DOS ------------------------------------------------------------ The Autodesk Family of Products CD is designed to run in Windows. However, you can view product demos of most of the applications from DOS. To view the demos from DOS (assuming D is your CD ROM drive): 1. Type D: and press ENTER 2. Type CD \ and press ENTER 3. Type DOSDEMOS and press ENTER 4. Choose a demo to view from the menu
