Encourage your child's artistic potential with Le Paint Petite, a powerful painting, drawing, and design program in 256 color. Young tykes will have no problem jumping into the paint cans of fun, because there is no text in the fully visual interface. Adults may want to try their hand as wellùthe effects here appeal to anyone with an artistic bent. Accompanied by jaunty digital background music, Le Paint offers an impressive array of tool choices. The Draw Tools transcend the typical pencil, bucket, and spray paint apparatus and graduate to the Splatted Bug, Radio Waves and Quill Pen. Effects can also be paired: for example, clicking on the Clown will conjure up an instant rainbow of colors, and selecting the guy in the suit will bring back a more toned-down effect. Wand Stars draw the little stars that come from magic wands; Spirograph swirls up a patterned effect; the Magic Brush creates colorful crystals; and Fred the Bubble Fish is ready to go to work. It's obvious that an ex-Disney artist is on staff, because the visual wizardry here is truly unique. Silly sound effects abound as wellùtry the scissors for a ripping experience. The Undo feature and plenty of eraser options will let you modify your color adventures or start them from scratch.
