Multimedia

Idle Mode:
If you wish to run NetShift alongside another application, e.g. a payment control system or Multimedia presentation, NetShift can be externally switched into æidleÆ mode and subsequently re-activated.

URL Commands:
In addition to the standard protocols, there is a special, NetShift-only protocol called ns-command: which can be used to tell NetShift to execute a specific function such as showing the keyboard, or returning to the start page.
The ns-command protocol can be used in any URL either embedded in a web page link or assigned to a function in NetShift such as a custom button or banner.

The available functions are:
start | back | forward | help | print | show | hide | custom2 | banner | logo | close
(Take a look at the HTML source of this page for an example of how to use this technique)

Dynamic Program Execution:
This function allows an external program to be executed from within NetShift or a webpage link. NetShift will then wait for that program to finish executing and resume at the point it's operation was suspended.

Video Attract Mode:
After a pre-defined period of user-inactivity, NetShift can play a full-screen AVI video file. This video will automatically shut itself down when the screen is touched, returning the user to the Start page.
