For easier reading enlarge the window by clicking the maximize button alternatively, print the contents and keep the pages with your MultiView/X documentation. The following items are discussed in this readme. 1. IMPORTING KEYMAP DATABASE FILES. 2. LOCAL HOST ACCESS CONTROL. 3. INSTALLING WITHOUT A WINSOCK.DLL. 4. UNINSTALL ISSUE'S. 5. INITIAL CONTROL PANEL SIZE. 1. IMPORTING KEYMAP DATABASE FILES. If you have modified keymap database files from a previous software installation and wish to preserve that information for MultiView/X 7.0, follow the procedure outlined in the last section of Appendix A, Importing Keymaps in the MultiView/X User Guide, located in the DOCS directory on the MultiView/X CD. 2. LOCAL HOST ACCESS CONTROL. You can control host access to your MultiView/X display locally through this mechanism. In the General folder of the Configuration Option menu on the Control Panel is the option for Local Host Access Control. Its state is either Enabled or Disabled. When Access Control is Disabled, all hosts on the network are able to send X programs to your display; there is no access control. If you do not want your display interrupted by network host messages or clients, you may Enable Access Control. When you select the Local Host Access Control option and Enable it for the first time, you will be prompted to edit the host file. Create this file by entering the network names of hosts you want the X server to accept connections from. Any network host not listed will not be able to contact your X server display. Name and save this file and it will automatically be given the .HST extension. The contents of this file will be written to the HOSTS file each time you Enable the Local Host Access Control option. You may create multiple access control files containing different lists of hosts you allow to connect to your X server. The last .HST file you open is the active access control file. This file's contents are written to the HOSTS file when you Enable the Local Host Access Control option. 3. INSTALLING WITHOUT A WINSOCK.DLL. Please ensure a Winsock TCP/IP is installed before beginning the X install. If a Winsock.dll is not available setup will fail in netinst.dll. 4. UNINSTALL ISSUE'S. Uninstall doesn't remove program group on win95 / win31. Uninstall doesn't remove base directory i.e. c:\multivwx. Entries will be left in win.ini(Win 3.1x) or registry(Win95/NT). 5. INITIAL CONTROL PANEL SIZE. The initial size of the control panel is to large for VGA screen's and is not centered on super vga.
