Did Not Respond in the Allotted Time Error Message When Making an Internet Connection

Symptoms
When you try to connect to an Internet site in Money, you receive the following error message:
The connection has timed out because the Internet, banking, or brokerage server you are trying to contact is busy. Please try your call again later.

- or -

The call timed out because the Internet, banking or brokerage server you were trying to contact did not respond in a reasonable amount of time. Please try your call again later.

Often, if you call repeatedly, you will get through.

Cause
The most common cause of this error is if your Online Financial Services provider is experiencing a higher than normal call volume. If you have connected successfully in the past, and have made no changes to your system, such as installing new software, or hardware (i.e. a modem), this is the most likely cause.
Resolution
If you have successfully connected in the past, try your call again, several times. If you continue to experience this error, try calling at a different time of day. You may also want to contact your financial institution to see if they are aware of any known problems on the server.

If you continue to experience this error, or if you have recently installed new software or a new modem, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider for troubleshooting steps.
