Why are these different than regular modems?

Money requires a connection to a communication port, and these modems do not use communication ports in the same way as standard modems. You can try assigning a port to the modem to get connected.

1 On the taskbar (The bar, usually located the bottom of your screen, that contains the Windows Start button.), click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

2 In the Control Panel window, double-click System.

3 Click the Device Manager tab, and then click View devices by type.

4 Double-click Modem, select your modem from the list, and then click Properties.

5 Click the Modem tab.

6 In the Port drop-down list, select a COM port.

What if I still canÆt make a call?

If you are still unable to make a call, contact your modem manufacturer.
