Add events youÆre dreaming about (such as taking time off work) or nervous about (four years of private college!) and see how they look ù without compromising your existing plan.
1 On the
navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click
Planner.
2 Click Lifetime Planner.
2 In the left pane, click the name of the place where you want to modify information.
3 Enter the information for the event you want to try out. (For example, to see if you can afford to take an expensive vacation, click Expenses in the left pane, then click College & Other, and then enter a new expense.)
4 In the left pane, click Results to see how the change affects your plan.
5 Go back to where you made your changes in step 3.
6 Highlight the event you just added in step 3, and then check Exclude from my lifetime plan.
7 In the left pane, click Results again.
8 Use the difference in the two results to help you gauge whether this event is a good idea.
9 If the event seems inevitable but you don't like the new results, adjust other parts of your plan. For ideas, click Action Plan in the left pane.
