Change the owner of an account

You may specify that your child owns an account and the Lifetime Planner knows to use this money for his or her college education.

1 Go to the Savings & Investments Accounts place.

How?

1 On the navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click Planner.

2 Click Lifetime Planner.

3 In the left pane, click Savings & Investments.

4 In the left pane, click Accounts.

2 Click the account.

3 Click Edit.

4 Choose Owner from the list.

5 Follow the instructions on the screen.

How do I move an investment account to a different account group?

If you change the owner, Money automatically moves it to the correct group. However, if you want to move an investment account to the retirement group, see Move an account into the Retirement Accounts group.
