Each time you create a new category, you are asked to assign it to a category group, such as Education or Dining Out. Using category groups helps Money generate detailed and accurate reports.
When you assign a category to a category group, you will see the group to the right of the category in Categories and Payees.
The Tax Worksheet (in Decision Center) can figure out your income and deductible expenses for you ù if you assign your new categories to the correct category group.
Money and QuickenÆs Standard Categories are assigned to category groups already.
Why don't I see the category groups listed?
To change the view, click the down-arrow on the view bar, and then click Categories, Subcategories, and Their Category Groups.
