If you use online quotes and own stock shares that have split, you'll see the stock split (A transaction in which a corporation gives existing shareholders new shares resulting in stockholders owning more shares at a lower price. For example, if a company initiates a two-for-one split, it doubles the number of shares each shareholder owns and drops the price by half.) the next time you download quotes. If you don't use online quotes, it's still easy to enter a stock split:
For example, if you have a 2 for 1 stock split and own 100 shares at $50/share, after the split you'll own 200 shares at $25/share.
Money adjusts the price, quantity, and share amounts in transactions for this stock to reflect the split. You'll see an S (for Split) next to the purchase price in the Account Register as a reminder that the price has been adjusted for the split.
These changes are also reflected in the Investment Portfolio and the Update Price dialog box.
