Change the category assigned to an investment activity

Money automatically assigns your investment activities to specific categories and subcategories, and uses these categories in charts and reports. You can change the categories Money uses.
1 On the Tools menu, click Options.
By default, Money specifies Categories as investment income and then categorizes investment activities as follows:
Investment activity | Subcategory |
Realized capital gain or loss | Capital Gains |
Interest income, taxable | Interest |
Interest income, tax-exempt | Tax-Exempt Interest |
Dividend income | Dividends |
Capital gains distribution | Short-Term Capital Gains |
Employee Stock Option (categorized as "Other Income") | Employee Stock Option Gain |
