If youÆre having problems aligning the printing on your checks, experiment with a photocopy of your check form when you follow this procedure:
1 On the
navigation bar (The strip at the top of the Money screen where you can click to go to the different areas in Money.), click
Accounts.
2 At the top of the left pane, click the down-arrow
, and then click the account you want.
If you don't see the account you want, look for it under Other Open Accounts.
Make sure the account contains a transaction in which youÆve entered Print in the Number field.
3 On the File menu, click Print Checks.
4 Click Print Test in the bottom left of the dialog box. Money will print sample information on the first blank check.
For laser checks, you can adjust the alignment by clicking Options on the Tools menu, clicking Print Checks, and making your changes under Printing Alignment.
For continuous-feed checks, youÆll need to manually adjust the positioning of the blank checks in the printer. Make sure the alignment values in the Print Checks tab are zero for all four check alignment settings.
5 After adjusting your printer, repeat steps 1-4 to re-check the alignment.
Important
- If youÆre using continuous-feed checks, and are satisfied with the way the test check prints, you may want to make a mark, or place a piece of tape, on your printer case to help you align checks the next time.
- If you use a dot-matrix printer and find the fields on your printed checks are not correctly aligned with the preprinted forms, make sure your printer is set to print 10 characters per inch.
- If youÆre using laser checks, youÆll be printing a single check each time.
