How to Get the Best Hotel Room for the Lowest Price

Don't let that quoted rate of $110 in downtown New York lull you into thinking you're just going to pay $110 a night.

This rate may fail to mention other charges that can significantly hike your bill. Remember: there are taxes (as high as 20% in some cities), phone charges, parking fees and other surcharges -such as the $2 fax - that may add to your tab.

Some hotels even have room service minimums, in which you pay $20 a day whether you use it or not. So do your homework before you book.   green square
