Skins

A skin is a collection of graphics (e.g. buttons) and instructions used to change the look of Opera's user interface.

Applying a skin

Opera skins come as compressed ZIP files containing:

To change the user interface skin:

  1. Go to the "Customize Opera" section of the My Opera Community
  2. Click on a skin you like
  3. Opera will automatically download and apply skins so you can preview them

In the dialog that appears, click if you would like to keep the new skin, or to go back to your original skin.

If you have downloaded several skins, you can always choose between them by clicking in Preferences.

Making a new skin

To create your own skin:

  1. Study the files in the default skin
  2. Create a similar collection of files and replace the graphics with your own
  3. Add your files to a new zip file and apply your new skin
  4. Share your Opera skin with others
