Setup Manager Topics | Previous | Next
When you create an answer file for a Sysprep Install, an .inf file is generated. To use this answer file it must be placed on your system drive in the Sysprep folder (for example C:\Sysprep) or on a floppy disk that is inserted when the Windows 2000 start menu appears. The files Sysprep.exe and Setupcl.exe must also be in the Sysprep folder. Running Sysprep.exe or the .bat file generated by Setup Manager will prepare the hard drive for duplication. For ease of use, you can choose to have Setup Manager create the Sysprep folder for you with all the necessary files. You should only choose to do this if you are running Setup Manager on the computer to be duplicated.
Note
The Sysprep folder is deleted after the hard drive is powered-up and Windows Setup completes.
See Sysprep.exe for more detailed information on using the Sysprep tool.
