Remapkey.exe: Remap Windows Keyboard Layout

This tool changes keyboard layout by remapping the scancode of keys. You must have Administrator privileges to use this tool.

• Key remap setting are effective for the current user and for all the users of the system.
• The new key layout is effective for Logon dialog or the command prompt.
• You can setup automatic logon so that even if you lose the CTRL, ALT, or DEL keys, you'll be able to logon to the system.

Remapping is done on a "key" basis. RemapKey can swap the CTRL key and CAPS LOCK keys, but it cannot swap only the symbol at shift state: instead, the whole key functionality is swapped.

For example, if you swapped "A" with "B", "A", CTRL+A, SHIFT+A and ALT+A will be swapped with "B", CTRL+B, SHIFT+B and ALT+B accordingly.

Since remapping is done at the operating system level, key swap changes are transparent to applications.
