RegRest Syntax

regrest [newfile savefile] [hivetype hivename]

Where:

newfile: specifies the backup source file name. RegRest will rename this file and use it to replace the old hivename file.
savefile: specifies the file name for saving the old hivename that is being replaced. The old hive file will be renamed and moved to this location.
hivetype: must be either machine or users or it will fail.
hivename: name of an immediate subtree of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_LOCAL_USERS. Will fail if hivename isn't a hive root.

after using RegRest, examine the output to make sure that the restoration did what you wanted. Changes take effect only after the system is restarted.
