Installing RdpClip
File Copy must be installed on each Terminal Server, and on each computer that is to be a Terminal Server client.
Server Setup
- Run fxfrinst.bat.

- Perform the following manual steps:
- Create a folder named "rdpclip" in the System32 folder in your winnt directory
- Copy the file RDPClip.exe into this new rdpclip folder.
- Set up the following registry key. This may be done manually, or by running the fxfr_srv.reg tool.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd]
"StartupPrograms"="rdpclip\rdpclip.exe"
- Copy the file fxfr.dll to your %systemroot$\System32 directory.
Client Setup
There are separate files for Win16 and Win32 clients. Be sure you are using the correct version. The 16-bit files can be found within the 16 bit client subdirectory of the rdpclip directory.
- Copy the file fxfr.dll to the Terminal Server Client installation folder. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Terminal Server Client. This is the same folder that contains the file mstsc.exe.
- Copy the file rdpdr.dll to the Terminal Server Client installation folder. This replaces the rdpdr.dll installed with the Terminal Services client.
