Installing RdpClip

File Copy must be installed on each Terminal Server, and on each computer that is to be a Terminal Server client.

Server Setup

• Run fxfrinst.bat.

• Perform the following manual steps:
  1. Create a folder named "rdpclip" in the System32 folder in your winnt directory
  2. Copy the file RDPClip.exe into this new rdpclip folder.
  3. Set up the following registry key. This may be done manually, or by running the fxfr_srv.reg tool. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd] "StartupPrograms"="rdpclip\rdpclip.exe"
  4. Copy the file fxfr.dll to your %systemroot$\System32 directory.

Client Setup

There are separate files for Win16 and Win32 clients. Be sure you are using the correct version. The 16-bit files can be found within the 16 bit client subdirectory of the rdpclip directory.

1. Copy the file fxfr.dll to the Terminal Server Client installation folder. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Terminal Server Client. This is the same folder that contains the file mstsc.exe.
2. Copy the file rdpdr.dll to the Terminal Server Client installation folder. This replaces the rdpdr.dll installed with the Terminal Services client.
