Using MsInfoSetup

To use the System Information Extensions

1. Install the extensions on the Windows 2000 computer where you want to view the files.
2. Click Start, point to Run, and then type msinfo32.exe to start the Microsoft System Information MMC Snap-in.
3. On the Action menu, select All Tasks, and then click Open System Information File.
4. Select the .nfo or .cab file that was created on Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT version 4.0.
5. Click Open.

Notes

• When a non-Windows 2000 .nfo or .cab file is opened, the Find, Save, and Basic/Advanced operations do not work.
• If you click a terminal node and then a non-terminal node in the MMC contents pane, the view pane continues to display data from the terminal node. To correct this, on the Action menu, click Refresh.
