Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit
The Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) enables administrators to create, distribute, and update customized installations of Internet Explorer 5 using tools included in the kit, such as the Internet Explorer Customization wizard, the Microsoft Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK). The IEAK Profile Manager, also included in the kit, allows you to create an answer file specifying custom settings for Internet Explorer during automated installations of Windows 2000. See Unattended Setup with IEAK Profile Manager for more information.
Using IEAK, you can:
- Tailor the browser and other Internet components to fit your organization's or customers' needs. For example, you can customize the Links bar and Favorites list to promote your organization or provide helpful information.
- Configure settings before you install, so you don't need to set options on each computer.
- Customize Setup so that it requires less intervention and installs your custom programs.
- If you're a corporate administrator, control which settings your employees can change, so you ensure that security, connection, and other important settings adhere to corporate standards.
