AtmLanE is a command-line tool designed to assist administrators in troubleshooting the status of the Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) LAN Emulation (LANE) client that ships with Windows 2000. ATM refers to a group of related, standards-based technologies that provide high-speed communication over various media.
When an ATM adapter is installed on a Windows 2000 computer, the LANE client is installed by default. If this system is connected to a switch that has LANE services configured (ask your system administrator or refer to the ATM switch documentation), the client will allow network connectivity to other clients within its emulated LAN.
